Kids Socks! They drive this busy mom crazy! I am always finding them thrown around the house. In the bedroom, under the table, and by the back door… socks, socks, socks. I have trained my boys to put dirty ones in the hamper but for some reason it rarely happens. Since half their socks never make it to the hamper, they don’t get washed, and then my boys can never find any clean socks to wear when it is time to get dressed for school in the morning. We end up running around looking for a clean pair of socks that actually match! Well this busy mom is tired of hunting down socks every morning, so I came up with the perfect place to store my kids’ socks.
I Store Clean Socks Right Next to their Shoes!
I can’t believe we have been running back and forth to the bedroom every morning for the past 8 years! Do you ladies already know this trick? Please tell me I’m not the only mom who has been keeping socks in the bedroom?
I balled up all my boys’ socks and placed them in a small bucket. Each child gets his own bucket of socks. I then store the bin of socks inside their shoe drawer.
The dresser drawer of shoes is stored in the hall closet right by my garage door. This location allows for easy access when we come in and out. Plus an added bonus is that no one can track dirty shoes through the house!
I love keeping the kids’ socks right next to their shoes. This has saved my family a lot of time running back and forth from the bedroom to the closet. Obviously picking out socks is not a time consuming task, but this tip helps me save a few minutes in the morning. And any extra time this busy mom gets is an added bonus:)
For anyone who is interested the cute striped monster socks in the photo are from Crewcuts last summer. But I found some similar ones here and here. Older boys will probably love these monster socks, while girls will adore these.
