I started this blog, so I could share with others, all the things I had learned and experienced with my own family. I wanted to help others and inspire them to live the best life possible with their own kids. I am a nurse by trade so helping people is one of my strong suits. I’m always answering questions for my family and friends, and I am constantly volunteering for my children’s school events. I always feel the need to contribute. So I decided this blog would be a great way for me to get my thoughts and helpful hints out into the world. But in creating this blog, the one person I have helped the most is myself! This blog has given me the self confidence to realize that I can accomplish anything I set my mind too!
Creating a blog is hard work!
I am not technologically savvy. It took a long time for me to give up my paper planner, and I still miss my CD player! So it’s pretty clear that I didn’t know anything about starting a blog. I had spent the last 8 years trying to be a good mom and learning how to have fun with my family. And in my previous “not yet a mom” life, we didn’t even have Iphones! (Yes I am that old!)
I spent weeks doing research about blogging. It felt like I read every single article on the web about “how to start a blog.” It was information overload! After receiving hundreds of “unavailable” responses, I had finally come up with my domain name. I took me hours to do “simple” steps like install a plugin or rearrange my widgets. It took me days to customize my layout and learn how to make forms for my newsletter. I had to set up social media accounts and decipher what the heck SEO and affiliate marketing meant! But after months of hard work, I had finally done it!!
I had started a blog all by myself. All my blood, sweat and tears had paid off! I’m very proud! I really like helping other people but it feels great to help myself too:) Learning how to blog has given me confidence in myself. I’ve learned I can gain the knowledge necessary to adapt and that I will be able to handle anything new life throws at me!
