Have you ever been on a breakfast picnic with your kids? Having breakfast outside is a fun family activity that you will be sure to enjoy again and again. Living in Florida, the weather for picnics is nice year round and mornings here are especially beautiful. And since my boys are early risers, they are always up and ready to go. But even if you don’t live in paradise or have kids that get up before the sun, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy a family breakfast picnic.
What to eat?
-If you enjoy packing a picnic, then some great take along options include muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruit and yogurt. These are great options for busy moms because they are easy to put in a cooler, not messy to eat, and simple to clean up.
-If you prefer something simple, then head out the door and go grab some donuts, bagels or stop into a local coffee shop. Kids love special breakfasts and since a morning picnic doesn’t happen everyday I like to bring along these special treats.
-And no matter which option you choose, don’t forget to bring a blanket, plates/ utensils, wet wipes, and a garbage bag!
Now we have food…but Where to go?
-The local playground is a great choice. The kids can run around and play after they have finished eating. Plus, no matter where you live there is a probably a park somewhere near by.
-A state park can be fun for the whole family. Grab a picnic table to eat at and then head out on a nature walk to explore when you are done.
-The beach is a popular spot for a picnic. How fun to feel the sand between your toes while eating breakfast!
-A lake or river bank is a beautiful place early in the morning. And if the weather is nice the kids can splash around in the water.
-Finding the sunrise is my favorite spot for a picnic. And you don’t have to live by the beach to watch the sun come up, just locate a nearby hill or rooftop building and look East!
Where is your favorite spot to enjoy a breakfast picnic with the family?
